2017 Continental Reserve 3.0 3g to 4g

I just last week bought a 2017 Continental reserve. I was disappointed when I found out it was 3g but I stumbled across all of the information here. I haven’t seen anything specifically for the Continental and wanted to confirm the information was the same as the mkz. I have already purchased the new tcu HJ5T-14G087-UF and the OBD EX. I have never even tried to use forscan nor do I know if the TCU is located in the same place in the Continental as the mkz. Anything I should know beforehand or any advice is very appreciated!

Under the rear parcel shelf/behind rear seat.

Is that in the trunk or would I access from inside the cabin? I was looking in the trunk but I couldn’t see where all the clips were to remove the liner. And is the tcu I purchased going to work for my car too? I don’t want to mess anything up, and I don’t know if it currently has an antenna. I want to be able to access the current tcu and see what I am working with. Lastly, where do I go to get a beta version of Forscan?

I have gotten the TCU updated to UM. I was able to get the car connected to the lincoln app but none of the controls are working. When I go into forscan now the tcu won’t even show up, unless I go into a previously saved profile. In the profile it shows errors and won’t let me go into the as built. Have I done something wrong? The ignition is on. @F150Chief @bill32399

Gotta be TCU AB settings. This is what Ford gave me when I upgraded my 3G to 4G several years ago.

Make sure you save your current AB before you go making changes.

What should I do if it won’t let me get to the as built now? It just says “service procedure has been interrupted”

Also what do you mean by save it before making changes? I have a screenshot of the as built from the new tcu before making changes but what is the impact of saving it?

What adapter are you using?

OBD EX. It was reading the tcu well and had the auth state in “waiting for authorization” so I downloaded the app, logged back in and connected the car. App and everything worked and said authorized. When I looked back in forscan it was no longer reading and I can’t get it to connect to the tcu anymore. App still connects to the car but the controls don’t work. I would go back to the as built to change some things as I have read in other forums, but can’t get to the as built screen now

Maybe try deleting the vehicle profile and starting it over to see if it reads it again.

I’ll give it a go. Will I need to remove vehicle from app and do the sync reset again? And I assume I won’t need to do the module firmware upgrade again, will I?

Nope, Just in Forscan.
