I am reaching out to the community regarding a specific situation with my 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E, which is a Chinese market vehicle.
The main difference from the global versions is the infotainment system. Instead of SYNC 3, 4, or 4A, this model is equipped with SYNC+ (the Android-based system developed with Baidu for the Chinese market).
My primary question is: In which specific module calibration or software package is the language/linguistic data stored? My goal is to understand if it’s theoretically possible to change the system language from Chinese to English (or another language) by updating or modifying a specific calibration file.
We are aware of the differances and those are documented on here for the Mach-E. As far as the language that has also already been covered and you cannot change it. Only Ford has access to those locked files and English was not an option in them.

However, my question was specifically technical and architectural. I am not asking if it can be changed by an end-user (the answer to that is clearly “no”), but where the language data physically resides in the software structure.
Could you or anyone with documentation please specify:
· Is it embedded in the main APIM firmware calibration (e.g., a G number like Gxxx-xxxx-xx)?
· Or is it a separate language calibration file (an L number like Lxxx-xxxx-xx) that is simply missing or region-locked in the Chinese firmware package?
It is not. You will need to disassemble the files, modify and reassemble with Ford proprietary software and hash keys. It is encoded and you will not be able to load it without the proper signed files.
