2023 F-150 Stowable Shifter Swap – Shift System Fail / Hill Descent Fault

I’m working on a 2023 Ford F-150 and recently swapped the column shifter to a stowable shifter. I purchased the shifter from eBay and installed it using the correct harness. The physical install went fine and everything is connected.

However, after the swap I’m getting a “Shift System Fail” message, along with a Hill Descent / Hill Start Assist fault.

My question is:

  • Do I need to make any changes using FORScan for this swap?

  • If so, which modules or as-built values need to be changed to properly configure the stowable shifter and clear these errors?

Any guidance from someone who has done this swap on a 2021–2023 F-150 would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
