Another Black Screen After Update

Just to follow up with F150chief’s suggestion to install the Sync3 version 3.3.

I did try both options but neither one worked. For some reason the update to version 3.4 locked up my system. I contacted infotainment.com and they were nice enough to send me a replacement APIM. Now everything is working fine.

I am reluctant to try the upgrade to 3.4 with Nav 2.20 that I tried before for fear that I’ll lock the APIM again. I’ll just live with my version 3.0 for the time being.

Do you have the information (part number, for instance) for the APIM they sent you?
Are those really Ford’s?

The previous unit was manufactured in Mexico May 2018 (JB5T-14G370-ACD).

The replacement unit was also manufactured in Mexico July 2016 (HC3T-14G370-FCD).

Both are refurbished OEM parts.
