Black screen on my SYNC 3 device. No Radio, No Nav, No parking camera, No mobile phone connected. I’m really warried !!!

Is your car MY20?, did it originally come with 3.4?
Also, you are using an old version of the app.
Do the USB lights come on when you power on?

Disconnect the battery for 15 minutes then reconnect. Maybe there is a chance it will come back, most likely not.

Your car is a 2020 Kuga. Did you bypass the warnings in the Syn3 Updater app about not using the reformat mode on a MY20 vehicle?

I don’t know if my KUGA if a MY20 version. I bought it in Nov 2020 but probably was produced early by Ford.

Yes, if I insert a different USB stick (I have one with 20 Gigabytes of MP3 files that was always inserted before the failed upgrade), when I turn on the car, the stick light ON and have a couple of blink. After the blinks, it stay lighted.

Do you have some ideas ?
Yesterday evening I setted up a new stick with the new release of “SYN3 Update” and the same software release 3.4… May be good if I try to insert and repeat the procedure ?

If you didn’t bypass the warnings you would have been able to find this out.

Since issue has now been identified, I’m setting an auto closure after 4 days of inactivity.

In the future, please keep in mind that warnings are there for a reason. This applies for anything really, not only Syn3Updater. If you had doubts, you should not had proceeded without checking.

MY20 or later can’t be reformatted with the current leaked reformat tool, and if you do it, you brick your APIM. There’s no solution, other than hardware replacement.

And as said before, your unit is most likely bricked.

Just to clarify changing the screen to a older screen can allow you to recover the apim but this requires dissembly
