Hi Guys
New member but long time Forscan user,
I wanted to update my APIM’s Firmware to support calm screen and other extra features but im a little worried as I Temporarily “Bricked” my APIM the other day, Im pretty sure this was due to using an inadequate cable Yes Forscan did warn me. Anyway I now have a Vlink FS cable that should be able to program the APIM no worries I just wanted a little help with what Version I can go to and if the Forscan table looks correct? As I did that message stating New Firmware is designed for another Hardware? See the above images
Please Any Help at all is very much appreciated..
Regards Ash
that’s how I recovered my bricked black screen I used your .txt file for H series recovery. I used these files:
SBL: (shouldn’t have to change this) GB5T-14G376-AA.VBF
Strat: GB5T-14G374-CB.VBF
Cal: GB5T-14G375-DA.VBF
and it bought the APIM back to how it was before the failed firmware update?
I did notice that while going through the attempted update it said deleting blocks 1/2 and 2/2. but after I successfully recovered it at the start it wanted to load 1-7 block, then I did the recovery mode and custom and it loaded only 1-5..
so there is noway for any additional extras like calm screen for my APIM? sorry just to clarify..
If you could get the HB5T-14G374-CA file to load it would give you calm screen, but not much of anything else. Since you have an H series unit, you could try the MY18.5+ firmware. If the message comes up that says the module may be bricked, reload the entire asbuilt for the APIM and then perform a master reset. If you are looking for more features then the MY18.5+ firmware is what you want. This firmware is compatible with Sync 3.4, whereas the pre-MY18.5 firmware can have issues with certain features and performance. However, any firmware upgrades have risk, so take that into consideration.
