I’ve tried using wifi and multiple usbs. I tried different versions with no success. I either get error codes or usb storage has been changed or unplugged message. How do I get this update. My car play asks permission every time I turn on my truck. It won’t let me do a hard reset it will do it but nothing gets deleted.

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?

First, is anything plugged into the other USB ports?
You want to remove anything else even if its just a charging cable.
Normally the error you’re showing is from trying to do a normal map update without a license file.
The maps after NA2.20 are ESN locked in North America, you cannot install maps for Sync 3.0 onto a APIM the has 3.4 loaded on it, nor can you install maps for 3.4 on an APIM running 3.0
Nothing plugged in. I used the cyan program to download the update. Now the usb message pops up every time not the error code. Is says this usb storage device has been changed or removed download will begin when re inserted.
You’re showing 3.0 as the version, can you run the interrogator so that we can see what exactly you’re working with, or at the very least on the APIM screen go to General, Settings, About Sync to get the actual build?
This really sounds like you are trying to just update the maps without a reformat, to do that you have to have the VIN specific license file for the map iteration.
If you search the forums for “installation paused”, you will find A LOT of threads with your exact case, even with the same build number you have.
None of them were resolved, they had to change the APIM.
So perform the search, read those threads for all the suggestions they tried and try them yourself.
If none of those work (which sadly is expected), you will have to change the APIM, since the conclusion was that there was something wrong with the APIM (hardware failure).
In those cases, they could not even run an interrogator log, and you can’t event perform a master reset.
