Downgrade 3.4.23188 error VER_ERR08

Hi there! I’ve tried to downgrade my SYNC 3(2020 year) to get clean raw data, but got an error VER_ERR08.
4 month ago I’ve updated SYNC to 3.4.23188 via official site. This winter started to observe a strange behavior of SYNC3 like a dark display when start the car, do not turn off the display after closing car. Also sync does not save my settings like language.

You are lucky that error is all you got, you are apparently trying to reformat a MY20 APIM, which will brick the unit. DO NOT Reformat this APIM.

why? After 3-4 soft resets, the raw data was cleaned, and Sync was successfully updated

Why? Because a 2020 year or newer APIM uses different drivers for some of the components and if you reformat it with the cyanlabs syncupdater you will lose those drivers and the unit becomes a door stop.

You indicated that you were using a 2020 or newer APIM

FMods has a universal updater you can use on a 2020 or newer APIM but it comes with some prerequisites to use it.

checked again. by document my car produced in 2020, but I see all components produced in 2019. Looks like that is the reason why I successfully updated my Sync.

There are L-series APIM’s with the older version eMMC, but they were very early 2020 production. I have one for testing. The Interrogator Utility will identify these as L-series part number with the old version eMMC part numbers.

Looks like yes, all component produced in 2019, but the car at the begining of 2020. The topic can be closed, now everything works well.
