Hello,

Sorry for opening a thread again.

I am thinking about finally upgrading with the custom map package for the GCC, but I have the feeling my Sync 3 settings are a bit unusual and I would greatly appreciate if someone could clarify if it is possible to upgrade. I am uploading 2 images of my current APIM version. For some reason I only see the maps (2014) f I touch on the compass, they are not displayed on the home screen. Also noticed when checking the “about” it does not show any maps info.

Could someone kindly let me know if this is normal and I should proceed with the upgrade, or if I have some strange Sync 3 configuration? As I said on my previous post Fords support in this part of the globe is not the best and any issue will likely be expensive or impossible to solve.

The compass on the main screen is normal behaviour in the ROW region.

It appears that your system is still using the old SD card method for maps. You can try and attempt an upgrade to 3.4 with the latest maps and then remove the need for the SD card altogether.

I’m not sure how much storage is required for ROW maps but I think 32GB is enough.

The home screen is normal for your region.
ROW maps will fit on a 32GB unit. There is not a NAV Voice option for ROW…

There are maps installed onboard the APIM.
/fs/sd/MAP/ = 20M / 3.3G

Use the Syn3 Updater to update your unit to 3.4, there is nothing special in this case.

Thanks for your reply. I went ahead and purchased the trimmed version. Just to make the process quicker and lighter. My only concern now is if the voices will be included when selecting only the GCC maps. Looking forward to updating the system. Thanks a lot!

Voice is included in the map packages for row, I’ll create the package in about 8 hours

Good morning gents,

Just updated my sync 3.
The whole process was absolutely flawless. It took under 15 minutes with the custom packages. So far everything seems to be working perfectly. Just a quick question, is it possible to get the same screen format as the NA/EU versions? Meaning, replace the compass and always show the nav display?

I am very grateful for your help.
