I got the As-Built data from a friend, and now the radio works as it should. It greets me when I get in, and it turns on with the ignition. I couldn’t get the PDC (parking distance control) to work visually, though. I think even a new PAM module wouldn’t help with that, and I also don’t believe an older APIM from the J-series would make a difference. In the future, I’ll try buying a new module from a facelift model or maybe updating the module. Honestly, I haven’t seen anyone manage to get the visual PDC to work when upgrading from Sync 1 to Sync 3. I can hear the beeps, though, and that’s enough for now.
