Greyed-out buttons on Sync 3 screen

Hi, I recently upgraded the system in my Ford Galaxy 2016 from Sync 2 to Sync 3. I have programmed the APIM data over the last few weeks or so and have got all the settings for my car and they are working perfectly. However, some of the buttons on the various settings screens are either unresponsive or greyed-out. I have tried a master reset several times, but they are still the same. I would like to know are these settings not working, because my car did not have them on the Sync 2 screen originally or is there a glitch with my system. I thought about disconnecting my battery as a last resort to reset the car completely, but don’t know if this will make a difference. Has anyone else had these problems and do you have a solution? Thanks.

You’ve got things enabled that are either not compatible with the specific modules on the car or the config in the APIM is wrong for that function.

As an example, turning on center stack on a 2017-2020 Fusion/Mondeo gives you a few buttons that you can get working, but the measurement units (miles/km, gallons/liters, psi/hg) settings screen is completely grayed out.

If you are programming items in the 7D0-09-xx settings, keep in mind that most of this is only enabling menu functionality, not adding the features to the vehicle. The specific modules must support the features. Since you have a Ford Galaxy 2016 MY, most of the settings in 7D0-08 and -09 do not apply.

Thank you for all the responses. I have taken photos of the menus and screens that I was talking about. As F150Chief has pointed out, these are settings in the 7D0-08 and 7D0-09 modules. My car does have these settings in the IPC and has always had them. Maybe some of them don’t work properly on the touchscreen, because they were not on the original Sync 2 system touchscreen.

You’ve enabled center stack on a vehicle that doesn’t fully support it.

All of the functions you’re pointing to as either not working or flaky are due to compatibility issues with other modules in the car.

Basiclly you enabled a bunch of stuff in the APIM that does not have the supporting hardware or software in your vehicle.

These options will never work.

Thanks for all the help. I’ve turned all the buttons and menus that were giving me grief off. Had a feeling this was all to do with the age of my car, but just wanted it confirmed. Also decided to turn Centre Stack off, because I already have these menus in the Instrument Panel so didn’t really need them on the touchscreen.

Thanks once again, Huggybear.
