I have a 2023 Ford Escape ST-Line Select Hybrid.
I’ve tried a lot using FORSCAN, but I still can’t find a solution.
The following are the issues:
The temperature isn’t displayed in the upper right corner of SYNC 4, even though it’s shown in CALM SCREEN mode.
The navigation system keeps giving an error (maps take a long time to load, then an error). It doesn’t even display the location on a blank map.
I keep getting the U0253 IPMA error, which I can’t clear.
The car is located in Ukraine, and the TCU was modified to accept an external SIM card. I received the last update on October 10, 2025. I was hoping that an OTA update would fix the issue, but there are no more.
Thank you for your help. I understand that the PMI check should be done using FDRS. Unfortunately, I only have FORSCAN at this time. All IPMA communication tests in FORSCAN show no errors, but U0253 appears after a couple of minutes.
If possible, please check if there are any new updates waiting for me.
Good afternoon. Thank you for your reply. Using Forscan and Motorcraft AS-built, I re-flashed the IPMA, APIM, and GWM modules. I reset the modules, cleared errors, and ran a module test. Each module passes the test without error. Error U0253 appears after approximately 2-3 minutes.
Perhaps the incorrect APIM behavior (navigation error, temperature display at the top, outside the screen) is related. What am I doing wrong?
I still do not see where you have run a PMI. Anytime you flash the IPMA it will require a PMI which Forscan can do. The error will not go away until you do.
Hello. Unfortunately, I can’t find the procedure for performing PMI in Forscan. I’ve run connection tests. Please help me. Could you tell me which Forscan menu item I need to perform, or provide a link to a description of this procedure? Or am I using the wrong version of Forscan? Thank you.
I’ve completed the procedure PCM Module initialization/relearn from Central Configuration. I even ran it twice. Forscan returned the message: Service procedure completed successfully.
I cleared the errors and restarted APIM and IPMA. A minute later, the same U0253:00-2F error appeared. All the problems remain.
Any ideas on how to resolve this? If possible, could you tell me if there are any updates waiting for me?
