Is it safe to reformar Puma 2020 apim?

Hello,
because of some failes map installs i have left with about 12Gb free space.
Since from what i have read there isnt a way to release space i need to reformat. What is the most safe way to do it? Sync3updater gives warnings because of 2020 version
