Is there a question here?

yes i just like to know if i can update my sync 3 if it say not my20

Yes, and I strongly suggest you read the Basic Usage - CyanLabs guide.

MY20 detection is user based, so if you have a brand new MY20 APIM that does not adhere to normal naming conventions and no one reported it, you will brick it if you reformat it.

Can it happen?, yes. So if you wanna be sure and since you didn’t share the APIM’s model, you can look for that part number here in the forums to see if anyone else already reported issues with it.

HBST-14G371-FAG is the apim

I have had the car nearly 6 years now with sync 3 I’ve updated it using usb from ford website but it won’t let me update to 3.4 so I downloaded the cyanlab program to update it to 3.4
