New, not sure if I need to update

I recently purchased a Ford edge and was able to update to the latest official stock firmware for sync 3. however, I recently discovered cyanlabs and would like the map update. would it be beneficial to do the full cyanlabs update, out just the maps?
will cyanlabs version of latest sync 3 3.4 be smoother than the official release?

There’s no “cyanlab version”, all packages are Ford’s. Syn3updater is just a facilitator.

“Speaking” from memory, NA maps are ESN locked so you can’t just update maps without a valid license. If you want to update them, it’s a full install via reformat.

You can’t reformat MY20 hardware.
