I have installed sync 3 unit (ACM, Screen and APIM) from a wrecked 2017 Fusion. Everything seem to work but no sound from any audio sources. I thought I had a bad ACM, reinstall the ACM from the Sync 2 unit and it worked. I have work with ForScan and got the rotary panel button to turn the radio on\off . The volume will not change. The steering wheel controls will change soucres. The volume switches on the steering wheel will not change the volume but the volume icon will show up. Also the navigation is not working, possibly the bad antenna.
Odds are the Fusion had an DSP and the F150 does not. By adjusting the AB values to reflect no DSP in the ACM that should fix it. This would be why the old ACM works as it has the correct AB to match the system configuration.
Now if the new ACM is A2B than it probally will not ever work in the F150.
I am sorry, I do not understand the meaning of AB. The only place I found DSP listed is in APIM.
The AB is the config file, you can’t just carry over the existing config from the donor. The F150 and the Fusion are close, but not the same.
DSP means that the either the donor had the Sony audio (A2B is a little blue plug on the back of the ACM that looks like a USB) and yours does not or vice versa. Personally there’s no reason to carry over the ACM from the Fusion all you need is the APIM and screen.
Find a 2016 F150 (first year the F150 had Sync3) with the same options as yours on one of the used car site, use its VIN on https://www.motorcraftservice.com/Asbuilt/ to get the AsBuilt file.
Once you have that use ForScan without a saved config to load it. APIM/AsBuilt Config mode then click on load from file, load the downloaded file and write.
I Tried to disable DSP, but no change. Steering wheel control haft works. I am about reinstall Sync 2 APM.

Pretty sure you had Sync 1 in the truck…this is slightly more involved than just a Sync 2 upgrade.

What model level is the truck, like an XL?
Did you use a wiring harness kit for the swap?
So first thing first, to make this easier, put the old acm in the truck and see if you have audio. The OEM ACM should work fine for this, although it is only an AM/FM/CD unit.

The ACM HS7T-19C107-CM has AM-FM-CD-MP3 (single disc), w/satellite radio, w/High Definition radio. It will need to have the asbuilt adjusted for your vehicle.
The relavent question here is if this truck came with Sync 1 as indicated in the factory asbuilt, was it upgraded to Sync 2 (I can’t imagine it was). In order to upgrade from Sync 1 you would also need to replace the FCIM…so where did you start?
You can try this asbuilt for Sync 3 from a 2016 F-150 XLT, it will be close.

When I got the truck it had a 4” screen.
Do not know the part number for the original APIM. Will find tomorrow.
It is a XL truck.
I did use a wiring harness kit.
I have used the Sync 2 ACM with Sync 3 APIM and it worked.
When I installed the Sync 2 unit the FCIM came with it.
I try the Asbuilt you came up with tomorrow.
FL3T-14D212-ED > Sync 1 APIM
Good, start there. Once everything works you can swap it for the newer ACM.
So the progression on this is OEM Sync 1, then to a Sync 2 swap with FCIM, then to Sync 3 and the newer ACM.
With Sync 2, was everything working? No issues?
It seems to work except for volume icon
When I wrote the new asbuilt I get checksum error. Mostly on 7D0-01- 01 some the entries have changed. After loading the asbuilt the audio is off and will turn on. The attached is the asbuilt after the install. This with the ACM from the Sync 3. With an ACM from Sync 2 it works without sat. option. Volume controls on the dash and steering wheel are working with working icon .
I’m a bit confused with your description.
The checksum errors are normal if you change a value on the line. Let FORScan calculate and write the new checksums.
Is this all with Sync 2?
Does Sync 3 APIM with the OEM ACM work properly or not?
I tested the asbuilt with Sync 3 ACM did not work.
Then tested with the Sync 2 ACM and it did work. Audio comes on. Can control volume by the knob and steering wheel controls.
Show us a picture of the back of the Sync 3 ACM please.
The Blue port is the A2B port and yes it would be for an amp. This ACM will never work in your truck. Send it back to the seller if they will take it.
Also for the APIM, that is a really old H series one and they can be a bit finiky when you update them or update the calibrations. They are also known to be slow.
Thank you for everyone help?
