No map GPS signal

Updated my 2016 ford f150 sync 3.0.23219 and maps 1.14 to Cyanlabs sync 3.4.23188 and maps 2.23 and now have no GPS signal. The Cyanlabs sync and maps downloaded with no issues except for the issues with np GPS signal

In the AB config what is the GPS location set to?
If you run the satellite check, how many is it seeing?

That is going to be found via ForScan or the factory AsBuilt config (assuming nobody has played with the config using ForScan).

On some vehicles that came with 1.0.x I’ve found it necessary to drop the Sync3 version down to 3.4.21194 or 3.4.21265 to get the factory GPS antenna to work correctly.

I drop the Sync3 version down to 3.4.21194 and then tried version 3.4.21265 I also tried version 3.3.19052, did a master reboot and also a module reboot after each download, drove around for 15 minutes after each download and the GPS still not working.

Did you do a master reset each time and then drive it or ?

I usually find that when I run into this I have to drive the car for 20-30 minutes before the GPS locks in (the only exception I’ve seen is dropping an EU NAV APIM into an NA vehicle and that will never lock).

Yes I did the master reset each time and the drove the truck. I then reloaded each of these sync 3.4.21194, 3.4.21265 and3.3.19052, did a master reset each time and the drove the truck for 40 minutes

For each of these downloads as you suggested but still no GPS. Is it possible that I need a license for the new sync and map version or would that not have anything to do with the GPS?

The navigation map downloads to the Dearborn location in MI and when I search for my home address here in Canada it tells me how long it will take to get here so I think the maps have downloaded fine but just needs the GPS to get my location. Als I have no GPS for the Sirius XM radio station.

Since everything is stock based on this, I think it’s time to check the antenna itself… It should not take that long to get some kind of signal, and since you have no signal at all, it’s worth checking it…

Do you have Forscan and an adapter?.

Couple of things here.
The GPS & Sirius XM receivers share the mustard colored coax/connector coming from the antenna and then go through a splitter to deliver the GPS to the APIM and XM to the ACM.
If XM isn’t working also that points to a bad cable or antenna. Sirius doesn’t use GPS for anything unless you’ve subscribed to Travel Link for fuel prices, weather, etc.

I am not familiar with Forscan or the adaptor. I looked on the internet and it looks like I need to down load this to a laptop computer not sure if this is something I should try

If you have Forscan and an adapter you could see if there are any DTC present… A DTC is an error code…

But as far as I’ve read, I would think the GPS antenna is the next thing to check…

So I got the GPS antenna checked out and it was the problem. Latest sync version and map version all good now.
