My question is regarding the oil change indicator. I noticed that since I updated to 3.4 on my 2017 ford escape, the change oil indicator does not come on anymore. I am getting notifications in the ford app but not in my car anymore. Did installing 3.4 on my car remove this from my car?

Installing SYNC updates onto your APIM has nothing to do with the other modules in the car. If you used to receive oil change messages on your dash (IPC) and they no longer come up then something else is wrong.
In the IPC menu, what does the oil life say vs. the Ford Connect app? You may need to reset the oil life monitor in the vehicle, they may be out of sync…see the link below to reset the OILM.
