AWWWW… So no way to understand if it’s a my20 version or not. I did see the 14g # below but not sure what that was supposed to be

If that is the APIM model number than it would be a G series which would be in a 2016 vehicle. That would not be a 2020+ APIM so you could reformat it.

You can use this list to check APIM model numbers.

As you will see though that model number is not accurate for an APIM or is not a known number.

That’s not an APIM.

The unit is operational, right?.
If it’s, go into bezel diagnostics (the hidden menus) and check the APIM model there.

Look at the value at F111, you do not have a MY20+ APIM. It starts with G, not a new EMMC.

I just went for it, it updated. getting two errors, one says the below, I assume this just means I need to replace the usb port in the middle to a newer one that is car play compatible - anyone have part number on it?

The 2nd is it’s telling me navigation isn’t working. My guess is i need the new port, then re-do what i just did to get the maps to load?

You are correct. It is really only for Carplay so it should work fine minus the error.

Did you do a master reset? USB port does not effect APIM Nav. Maps would only load if you had the correct APIM as the Nav APIM has more memory. So if you set it up right for Nav than your good otherwise you would get an error becuse you did not have the required memory.

I did do the master reset, twice. In the Syn3 updater download, I did make sure it was “NAV”. My thought was to re-download to USB and plug in, see if the re-install of the new fixes it.

I was thinking USB port needed to be replaced first to function, but makes sense it’s just specifically associating to the carplay, but updates, chargin, etc should be fine.

What message are you getting that says the Nav is not working?

Before doing that, share the usb log for the USB you use for upgrading (it’s saved in syn3updater in case you reformatted the USB). Also, run the interrogator log again and share the results (the full xml file, not a copy&paste).

There’s your issue, you didn’t install NAV since the tool is not properly configured.
You need to recreate the USB after correctly configuring the tool → Basic Usage - CyanLabs

About the interrogator log, that’s not what I asked for since it’s the old one. But having seen you omitted installing NAV, I do not need it now.

So redo the installation, that should fix your issue.

Nice catch on the NAV, I forgot i had to uninstall then re-install syn3, didn’t change the nav on the reinstall.
