Hi - long time listener, first time caller. Recently converted to Sync 3 from Sync 2 in my 2015 F150 Lariat. Used an asbuilt from a similarly equipped 2016 model year variant as a baseline and everything seems to be working as expected. Only issue I’ve noticed is when the camera screen is active there is a thin line at the top of the screen and appears distorted/corrupted. Line/Distortion was not present with the Sync2 APIM. Thoughts on why this line might be present, possible as built error or conflict? Thanks in advance!
For future reference - Did some digging and from what I’ve read this line appears to be due to some sort of incompatibility with the 2015 IPMB firmware or the hardware itself and the Sync 3 APIM. May try to source a 2016 IPMB to see if it corrects but not sure if it’s worth it at the moment.
Great, thanks! Will have to give it a shot. Assume this can be done via the paid version of Forscan with the files you’ve listed above? Would the cameras need to be calibrated post firmware update? Thanks again!
You will need a paid version of FORScan, yes. All of the settings will retain, I did this with mine. However, make a complete backup of the asbuilt just in case something gets stuck.
Make sure that the asbuilt backup contains the 7B1-06 and -07 data as this is all of the camera calibrations.
Finally getting around to do this over a year later…first time programming with Forscan and it looks like I can only load files for secondary bootloader, strategy, and calibration. Will the part number, hardware number, and cal level change post update to match the above? Also, how long should this update take? TIA, hoping to get this right on the first attempt haha.
