# Sync 3.0 to 3.4 won't finish

Hi, i’ve just tried to update my sync 3.0 to 3.4. Firstly it started great and was working. After 20 minutes or so the update showed a green screen and then gave the notification please insert usb drive. I’ve waited for 45 minutes but the notification won’t go away and the flash drive doesn’t get any power. Has anyone had this before and how can I fix it? The screen won’t turn off and it’s draining the battery now.

Hello.

It looks like you have missed what’s said in the tutorial / instructions:

> 1. Once the install is complete you will see this screen, remove the USB and the SYNC 3 system should start!  
> If it doesn’t turn the ignition off, open the car door, then close the door and turn the ignition back on.

So do that and report back.

I’ve read that in the instruction. The thing is that the loading bar wasn’t filled, and there is no update complete please remove USB. The notification is just please insert usb.

I think you are confused, because this is what you said before:

If the screen turned green, that’s when you had to remove the USB.

So, plug the USB in again. If the process does not start, turn the unit off and try again. If the previous method does not work, remove the fuse / battery and start over. Make sure the USB is the only device connected to the vehicle.
