I did exactly what the tutorials showed except choosing the Nav switch. It’s giving me an error when I try updating it to sync 3.4 the error message is described above. Now I’m stuck.

I’ve have tweaked the package provided which should fix this issue for NA non nav cars. please restart the process and ensure your Syn3 Updater version is set to 3.0.xxxxx not 3.4 in the settings of the app

So do I delete everything in the thumb drive and like you said restart the process? Also what do you mean to set it to 3.0.XXXX isn’t that downgrading instead of upgrading to the 3.4 SYNC?

Please use:
5U5T-14G381-EM 849Mb Sync3 v3.4.20351
5U5T-14G391-CM 385Mb Sync3 v3.2.20142 (NA ENU,FRC,SPM)
4U5T-14G423-CB 566Mb Sync3 v3.3.20178 (NA-0020)

Although 5U5T-14G391-BM has English for NA, the file is too large for 8GB APIM’s with Sync 3.4 installed.

Just repeat the entire process and make sure that your “current car configuration” in the app is set to 3.0.xxxxx. This will ensure it creates a reformat USB. The app will ask you if you want to wipe the contents off the USB and start fresh so just say yes to that and it should handle everything for you.

When you say to set it at “3.0.xxxxx.” do you mean like 3.0.00000 or my current SYNC version? Sorry I’m new to this I just really need more clarification.

it doesn’t really matter, basically if you are in 3.0.xxxxx it will do 1 install method, if you are 3.2+ it will do a different install method.

just set it to 3.0.00000 will be fine.

So put 3.0.00000 in the “Full Sync Version” bar right? And then under “new sync version” set it to the latest 3.4 version

All good now. Everything works smooth. The only odd thing is when I’m listening to the radio it does not show the album cover or a cover at all but it does when I’m listening to music over Bluetooth.

That’s normal. Ford changed the way it displays media art and NA radio does not include any media art as we do not have DAB.
