SYNC 3 unresponsive after update

Hi, I recently updated from 2.3 17109 to 3.0 23219 via the automatic update, since then the whole system is unresponsive and very laggy. I have done a full reset, a soft reset and it still has the same issues after a week. Is there a way I can downgrade back to 2.3 17109 as this worked fine, or does anyone have any better ideas on how to fix the issue. I am in the UK. Thank you

You could use Cyanlabs to update to the latest version using 3.0.23219 as your current version.

Latest version is 3.4.23188 with latest maps for UK (Europe).

If you wish to go down this track I suggest you follow the video instructions on the right first before downloading the sync updater a little further down. Just ensure you do not remove the flash drive early when messaged to do so and do a master reset at the end as instructed.

Once you update software and/or maps with Cyanlabs you cannot go back to the Ford site to update however as you will now be under the Cyanlabs ‘fold’. :wink:

Your issues are caused by having old maps with a latest 3.0, there’s a known incompatibility.

Take a look at this guide to resolve the issue by installing the latest maps for 3.0 → Sync 3.0.20204/23219 with EU 2.21 (F11) or EU 2.22 (F12) or EU 2.23 (F13)/EU 2.24 (F14) Map Installation

You could try that as well, but I think it’s best for you to just update maps and stay at the most current Sync3 3.0 build.
