Hey all, planning to do a Sync 3 to 4 upgrade in my Lariat using a 2021 Ford F150 APIM and a 12" Ford Transit screen. I’ve done some cable work as well, so should be good to go for at least getting it running.

I was curious though, with the removal of USB updating from Sync 3 how would I go about updating the APIM with Sync 4 if needed? I assume I won’t be able to get OTA updates to work due to VIN discrepancies. Is the Mongoose method my only shot?

A random aside, assuming everything is installed correctly, would the power draw change for the new APIM/screen risk the car battery or anything? I figured the draw is probably small in difference but.

Thanks again! Take care.
