except it does it on every attempt on that specific file

seems to only do this only when I attempt to download maps v. 2.20 when I attempt 1.19 (my current version) it says "not enough disk space) but I am using a 32GB MicroSD. Should/can I update to 3.4 without upgrading to maps 2.20 keeping 1.19? would this reduce the space needed? Probably not since this is a re-format??

Maps and application updates are independent but can be done together. You can keep the NA 1.19 maps and update to Sync 3.4, in your case I recommend 3.4.20351 if you have SiriusXM. If you decide to update the maps, it is much faster to use the reformat method for your 2018 Powerstroke, about 30 minutes vs 60 or more with autoinstall. Since you are on Sync 3.0 now, you will need to reformat to 3.4 anyways.
If you are having issues downloading the maps, you can download them from Software Database - CyanLabs with a browser and place them in the Syn3Updater folder manually, then make the usb with the app.
