Updated 2017 Lincoln MKZ from Sync 3.0 to Sync 3.4 - Lost Sirius Channel Art - ACM is in the trunk. What can I do?

I upgrades my 2017 Lincoln MKZ from Sync 3.0 to Sync 3.4. I lost the Sirius channel art. Tried everything else and it didn’t work so I bought a newer ACM and made up 14" wires with correct connectors to add between the new ACM and AIPM plugs for SDL (Satelite Data Link). Well, it turns out the ACM is in the trunk and not in the dash. I also noticed that my original ACM has three filled coax (antenna) ports and the newer ACM one has two ports. Is there any way to get the channel art back? If not, what Sync version do I need to go back to to get it to work in the old format? I did notice that the plug on the back of the AIPM does not have terminals/wires in it for SDL on pins 27 and 28. I am not going to run wires from the trunk to the dash for this. Thanks

The default logos are in the ACM, losing the logos when doing a 3.0 to 3.4 update isn’t unusual as 3.4 has art that overrides the ACM provided logos. It usually takes a few days to shakeout, and yes sometimes some never seem to update.

Its one of the hazards of doing this type of mod, you’re loading 3.4 on a car which has 3.0 hardware.

I assume you did a master reset after completing the update to 3.4?

Yes, I’ve done a Master Reset, unhooked the battery for a while, changes Hex values in the APIM with Forscan, etc… It’s also been almost a month. I’ve also had Sirius do a reset a couple times. I read about having to buy a newer ACM which I did and made up wires for SDL to be added between the ACM and APIM connectors which is what I read would be needed for the new SiriusXM data stream as well. This is when I discovered that my ACM is in the trunk. Most write-ups I read said it was in the dash.

The battery disconnect is for 35 minutes to force a full cold reboot.

Your AB should be at factory, you shouldn’t have to make any changes with ForScan unless you install an X40 ACM

I left the battery disconnected for an hour. Unfortunately, no change. I am wondering if I should go back to Sync 3.3 to get as many benefits over 3.0 as possible without losing channel art. Do you know if there is much difference between 3.4 and 3.3? Thanks

Interface and slightly older canned album art.

Personally when I get one really hung like this after I do an upgrade I drop in another APIM temporarily and the ACM sees the new ESN of the APIM and clears any logos it has cached for upload. Then I drop the original back in which it then sees as a new APIM ESN.

The problem you’re running into is the station art in the ACM is set to a specific Sirius identifier (not channel) when Sirius changes the identifier on their side the ACM doesn’t have anything to match it to so no station art. My fight is usually with channels 7,8 and 56

Are you sure the scenario you just explain applies to my 2017 upgrade from 3.0 to 3.4? There are a lot of things written here on cyanlabs and on other places on the internet that say you must update the ACM to a newer version which I purchased and add wires for satellite srdi or something like that data to transfer between the ACM and the APIM to handle the new method of getting the new high resolution channel art to the APIM. Thanks

This is only if you want to add X40, preset logo’s and Traffic plus. It will give you the album art in Sirius but you will need a K series APIM with a highier calibration to do this.

Very familiar with the Fusion/MKZ platform.

As bill said, to do the X40 ACM you need at least a K series APIM the to have the correct firmware.
