USB hub not supported AFTER hub upgrade

2016 Ford Escape - just performed the SYNC 3 upgrade, worked flawlessly. However, even with the upgraded USB hub (HC3Z-19A387-F), I still have the “USB Hub not supported” error, and Apple CarPlay does not show up. Any thoughts?

SYNC Region: NA

Navigation Variant: Non Nav

Manufacturer Year: Pre MY20

Install Type: OEM

Old SYNC Version: 1.0

New SYNC Version: 3.4

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
“USB Hub not suppported”

Update Method: CyanLabs Manual Method

Where did you get it? There are a TON of fraudulent on Ebay, Amazon and other online retailers. Heck I even had a guy buy a supposed new one from a dealership only to find out it was a return that was all rusty inside.

The part is OEM from a Ford dealer and appears to be brand new

Might want to have the dealer swap it out with another one than. There is no known resolution beyond the hub to get rid of that error.

Have you checked it’s the correct PN?

Something is off…

I’ll admit, I don’t exactly understand that list. With a 2016 escape that has a double wide USB, I believe the part number I listed in the OP is correct. That is what I bought. Am I wrong?

Can you share a picture of said hub?, specially the stickers on it.

Installed is new hub.

You got scammed. That part number does not match what is on the box. I would bet someone bought and swapped it than took it back to the dealership and returned it. If you truely had the part shown on the box you would not be here right now.

Simple way to also tell is that when you buy a replacemtn part from Ford the the 4th digit in the part number is a Z like the box shows. You will notice the part that was in the box does not have a Z meaning it is an original part installed by the factory.

Thanks for the help. I thought the sticker shows the part number for assembly, which always differs from box part number. Do you know what number the sticker should show on the correct part?

Sandman posted a list of them above

Yes I saw the parts number list. The number on the box matches the list posted above. However, you are saying with confidence that the number on the sticker should match that on the box. My understanding is that the sticker number differs from the box number, because one is an assembly number and the other is a service number.

From the last picture you sent, I would not expect a GC3T PN. In fact, it’s the same “series” than your old one, being -BB instead of -BA… but still a “G series”…
If you check the link we sent before, “H series” PN should be expected.

Go to the dealer and see what they have to say about that. But as far as I understand that list, you basically have not upgraded the HUB since it’s still a G series one.

I see. That is helpful. So according to the list above, I should see an engineering number on the part reading HC3T-14F014-BC or HC3T-14F014-BD, correct? Any other engineering PN is not known to work? Does anyone have experience asking a dealer for a specific engineering PN? Can they do this, or do they typically only have access to the latest part listed under that service PN? Haven’t found the parts counter guys to be extremely helpful in the past.

Yes. Just take it back and tell them when you opened the box it is different. They can look that up and see it’s not CP compatible.
