Hi, I currently have a Ford Escape III from the US (manufactured in 2016, first registered in 2017). Sync 3.4. No navigation. I want to buy an APIM module. I want to have navigation. Please advise where to start. How to check which APIM module is suitable.

For EU the paper tag will look like the 3rd pic here, a EU NAV APIM has 64gb of storage.
You can also check the model number here → SYNC 3 APIM Hardware Database - CyanLabs
Since you are EU based, you will need a 64GB APIM.
Avoid MY20 hardware as well, so that you can easily reformat the unit.

Can I find procedures on the forum somewhere on how to install a new APIM and what next?
I want to install this APIM in a 2017 Ford Escape from the USA. I don’t think a GPS navigation antenna was installed in this car. Will I also have to buy an antenna?
The 2016MY+ Escape has a GPS antenna for Sync3 already on the car, its part of the roof antenna assembly.
