I own a 2018 Ford F-150 that I purchased new. The factory SYNC APIM has never been replaced or modified.

Current SYNC: 3.0.17276
Current navigation maps: NA 1 16
APIM: Factory navigation, 32 GB
Interrogator result: APIM Model Blank, 8.3 GB free space.

I want to upgrade to SYNC 3.4.26057 and update my North American navigation maps.

Syn3 Updater 2.14.2 automatically selects Reformat when I choose the 2025 NA 2.25 maps.

Can you confirm whether my original 2018 APIM is safe to reformat? Is additional hardware identification necessary? Also, what are the licensing requirements for the ESN-locked maps?

I have not started the installation.

Your fine to install. You have a J series APIM and if it has never been replaced than you will be fine.

Dont worry about the ESN stuff. You will be doing a reformat type install and you dont need the ESN.

Based on that alone, it should be fine.

I would like to see the APIM model before proceeding though, but that’s just me…
