I have a 2016 F-150 XLT 5.0L. I have already done the speedometer swap & it now has a speedometer with the 8" display installed. That part came from a 2016 F-150 Lariat 5.0L.
I was impressed with how PNP it was, not needing any harnesses or major work to get the basics going. Speed works, screen works, gauges, now it just needs to be tweaked from a Lariat trim to a XLT.
Issue #1: When turning vehicle on, there are an array of error messages that show up having to do with sensors not being detected that the Lariat had. Blind spot, rear sensors, trailer control module, etc. I don’t have these sensors on my truck so how can I program the speedometer to stop looking for them?
Note: May actually just install the trailer control module anyway so assuming that would self resolve.
Issue #2: Push start. The speedometer thinks I have a push start truck while I have a physical key. How do I fix this?
Issue #3: Gas calculation. I am not sure if this is something the speedometer needs to adapt to overtime, but I have a 36 gallon fuel tank and on a full tank its showing I only get 380 miles. I should be getting maybe 540 - 650 miles on a tank. Maybe the previous user of this speedometer towed every day, or had the 23 gallon fuel tank, but 380 miles in a 36 gallon tank didn’t sound right to me. Do I need to adjust anything on this using Forscan (gas tank size for example) or should I just let the speedometer do this itself and on next fillup it will be more accurate)?
Thank you guys!
