It may be grey out because you have not stopped other processes like the AB screen.
Most likely. FORScan can’t do 2 things at once, so you need to close the AB function to use the data logger.
So I was able to get the live read, but when I go to do any functions on the app, they wont work.
Here is what it’s showing:
By chance do you have any idea what I need to change to get my functions to work? Im completely lost here.
It works!! The only feature that doesn’t show up is my tire air pressure. Everything else works great!
IF air pressure is displayed, you will need to drive a few minutes for it to update in the vehicle and then FordPass. If you only have notifications, it will only tell you a tire is low or high.
So with that configuration I never had tire pressure on the Ford Pass app either. Those settings came from Ford Engineering several years ago and I am not sure what needs to be adjusted with the AB to get TP back. I am sure if I look hard enough I could figure it out but I will leave it up to you.
There are no 7C codes, so the TCU is reporting everything it is colloecting.

I never went back to get them to figure out why mine stopped showing tire pressure so my help stops there.
maybe a calibration update?
This is the -UP cal level, and it’s not there…
Once I put in the AB and it worked, I noticed that my car’s battery has been completely depleted now two days in a row. Im assuming it’s something to do with that AB is from a plugin vehicle? Any ideas how to resolve this?
So I was completely wrong on my last post… Hence I deleted it. I don’t have the AB files for the 4g TCU. Is there anywhere I can go to put in the vin number for the vehicle that the 4g vehicle came out of, in order to see what it’s AB files were originally?
You don’t enter the vin in the TCU asbuilt for H or J series TCU’s.
Try here.
@jmbach Thank you!
Noted, thank you.
Guys, I think I finally have it working, with no battery drain!!
I went through the database on here that @F150Chief has compiled for the HJ5T TCU AB. I combed through it to the best of my ability and created a spreadsheet for what I believed would be the correct settings for my tcu to work. First attempt didn’t work, so then I compaired it to the AB data @bill32399 provided that was for the hybrid plug in.
The hybrid plug in’s AB data alone did work to connect and give me remote start, lock / unlock, oil life, and fuel level features on the Lincoln ways app. Unfortunately due to it’s configuration I would find my vehicle’s battery drained to the point no lights came on, & I had to use the physical key to unlock the doors.
Once I started comparing the data between the two data sources I was able to find where I could select my vehicle as a gas type engine, and test the different settings associated with gas vs hybrid.
So at last, I updated the TCU to the newest settings before I went to bed last night, and woke up this morning to a overall full battery, and everything still running great.
The only issue I have is on my dash I can go into the settings and view the TPM for each tire. However it does not display on the app itself. I talked to a Lincoln way rep, and she said that only vehicles years 2020 and newer are able to view the TPM on the app, regardless if they can see individual TPM on their dash or not. Im assuming it’s something they won’t be working towards to fix.
Regardless, I am very happy to finally have this feature. I work in a factory as an industrial maintenance tech and it’ll help a lot being able to remote start from inside the plant, especially during very hot days, and the winter season.
Also I did return the expensive TCU from ebay, because after I placed that order and it was shipped, an HJ5T was put up for sale. For it and a warranty through Allstate I ended up paying $80 for it. An aftermarket remote start kit & install from my trusted car audio place runs $700. So this saves a lot of money. Oh, I forgot to mention I also am using the stock antenna instead of the cheap china made one from amazon.
Ill provide the AB files in the next few days.
In addition I was able to also program a spare key since mine only came with one. Disable the annoying chimes, reset transmission learning tables, plus enable Bambi mode since there are a lot of deer and other wildlife in my area. I even updated my sync3 & maps to the latest update via the website and it looks sooo much better vs the previous update I had. Not going to lie, as much as my brain hurt trying to figure this all out, it was pretty fun to learn especially since I got it all to work, & saved a shit ton of money lol.
Thanks very much for all your guy’s help!! It’s extremely appreciated!!
Odd, My 2018 Expedition show tire pressure on the app. My 2020 Fusion would not show it.
That is odd, but that’s what the Lincoln way rep told me.
