I have a 2021 Lincoln navigator running sync 3 version 3.4.23188. I’m currently trying to update the maps, however if i select “only update maps” it shows maps that are older than the car itself. If i choose to upgrade to version 3.4.23188 it allows me to choose a maps version from 2023. Is it possible for me to “update” my car to the same software version it has just for the maps update? Or is there a better way to go about this?

Maps beyond 2.20 require an ESN key. Your APIM is a 2020+ so you CANNOT reformat it which is what would be required to install the new maps outside of the official Ford path.

The only thing you can use the Cyanlabs update for is to do just the SYNC updates that do not require a reformat.

NA map update to current is $109/$149 for a one year.
Which truly sux because last yeat you could buy a 5 year for $199
