Tried updating software from official Ford Site. Appears I may have broken it as it’s now showing the 4" Display on the 8" Display. The Ford Splash Screen comes up the correct size but the radio display does not.

No Errors, but screen is not correct.

you just need to install a 8inch sync package, that’s it.

yeah depending on your current version and your desired version you could simply use syn3updater or do it manually with the ivsu db
looks like you are on 3.4 so I’d suggest just using syn3updater if you are sure you aren’t my20

Ok updated it and it powered on with the blue Mustang logo but now I get this blank screen. Something in the asbuilt data need to be fixed?
possibly or you might have my20, I did say if you don’t have my20. it could be a incompatible theme set in the asbuilt though
It’s a 2019. Could it be they used a MY20 APIM?
unlikely to be factory 2020 but could be a replacement, this is why syn3updater has checks… either way it could also just be the theme that is set, try changing the theme in the asbuilt, use our asbuilt database if needed
Share the log for the USB you used…
From what you are saying, it was a reformat, which was not required to just upgrade Sync3.
But I want to see the log before making assumptions.
Edit: also, if you have Forscan and an adapter then share the APIM model with us, as long as with the APIM’s asbuilt table.
Besides the black screen, is the unit operational?.
It seems operational. I can hear a buzzing sound like its stuck on AM Radio and the volume on the steering wheel works.

So, when you turn on the vehicle, you see the mustang and then it turns into a black screen, right?.
Try setting 7D0-03-01: xxxx-**xx-xxxx from 01 to 00.
No luck. 4D only wants $199 to reflash it, so I’m just going to send it to them. Thank you both for trying to help.

I agree. But it’s my fuck up. Better than several thousand at the dealer for them to want to put the 4” screen back in.
You can try different things before spending money.
What’s the APIM model?.
You can try installing 3.4.21265 or even 3.3.19052, just the app package to be faster. Maybe try those to see if anything changes.
Sorry about the long delay in reply I had exams this week. I’ve made some progress. I think I didn’t do something right before because after changing it to 7D0-03-01: xxxx-0001-xxxx . Only problem now is the climate controls don’t appear in the bottom of the display.
