4g upgrade issue

Need some help with a 4g TCU upgrade for my 2017 MKZ.

Purchased a new TPU and 4g antenna

TCU: JL3T-14G087-CK

PIFA ANTENNA: HS7T-19K351-AA

Both are working, followed the TPU and as built programing steps on the PDF. PID’s display strong signal and awaiting auth.

When I put my VIN into the Lincoln app, it states “No vin found”

Tried searching and I’m not finding any posts with this issue. Any advice?

The unit needs to be activated for your VIN using ForScan

Followed this on my first go, did it again to check and see. Here are screens of where I’m at.

Firmware updated and matching the doc.

You’re saying this is a 4G upgrade…did the vehicle have a 3G modem beforehand?

The TCU asbuilt looks fine, as do the settings and PID’s. If the vehicle already had a modem, put that back in and test the VIN entry. The Lincoln Way app should work but not recognize the modem as activated since 3G is no longer in use. If the VIN does not register with the old modem, you will need to call Lincoln to resolve that.

Correct, it had a 3g modem before hand. Thanks and I’ll try what you suggested.

This will point to the issue being with the setup or Lincoln. Let us know…

Do you do a master reset on the APIM after you got the TCU to the waiting state?

I did via the sync menu and also via the physical buttons.
