many of us experience issues with Android auto and sync 3.
The common issue is that when receiveing a call, the sync 3 car does not reproduce the audio of the call, while the mic seems working.
Today I found the solution. This solution applies especially to the cars that did the SYNC 1/2 upgrade to SYNC 3, but could work also on SYNC 3 native car.
To solve the issue, you need to use forscan and access the ‘central configuration module’. Remember to enable the ‘engineering 2’ mode to be able to modify all values.
Then you need to modify the following data:
[Name]: OLD value → NEW value
Bluetooth handsfree: 08 - SYNC G1 BT-Phone BT-Audio → 09 - G2 Sync 2/Sync 3
Touchscreen: 06 - Dispay with no Touchscreen, Colout-TFT MFD 5 → 09 - Front Display DM8 with nav
For reference, this is the following…It applies to any Sync 1 to 3 conversion. The above just shows using the CC thru FORScan rather than the Asbuilt Configuration menus.
Check your FCIM asbuilt for the following:

In your OEM FCDIM asbuilt, it has ‘00’ entered there.
00=No Remote Display, APIM Not Present, ACCT Fixed, ATWU Not Supported, RAF Not Supported. PWMVBCBT VBC
Change the value to ‘60’
60=Touchscreen Display, APIM Present, ACCT Fixed, ATWU Not Supported, RAF Not Supported. PWMVBCBT VBC
Post your FCIM asbuilt and I’ll take a look at it.
Also, look at the ACM, 727-01-01 Xxxx xxxx xxxx
In your OEM ACM asbuilt, it has ‘D’ entered there.
D=Int SDARS Disabled, APIM Gen1, EFP CAN based, APIM Available
Change the value to ‘9’.
