I have posted them in previous threads a few years ago to help those that were doing it themselves. The AB settings seemed to work for everyone that I posted. I won’t be able to get them till tonight or tomorrow if I don’t already have them somewhere save on my PC.
I think it was this one but I would have to check it later…
Referring to the new dark grey build?
On mine I go into service, vehicle health and it take 2-3 minutes to populate if I haven’t driven the car that day.
I have a friend that had his 2017 Fusion plug in hybrid’s modem upgraded to 4g at ford. He just sent me his as built info. He’s in Canada also, so Im guessing thats why we see 754-05- at the bottom.
That was what had confused me with seeing that since the replacement part shown in the Ford kit is an H series.
As they come pre-loaded by VIN from Ford when the dealer orders the kit I’m guessing the block isn’t populated for one shipping to the US.
It could also explain some of the problems the dealer service department guys were having getting the kits activated.
There’s a specific area to mount the 4g antenna - I don’t think it is the same as the 3g. I bought the 6ft and I have some coiled, but I don’t know for sure that 3’ would be enough.
These things are mounted all over in the different models. I have seen the Dash, Tailgate, Rear Deck and the D pillar. Any of those will work but the one thing they all have in common is they are near a window.
Yeah - I was referencing warlock’s picture - the Ford PIFA antenna slots right in to that location without all the hassle of velcro or whatever other - non Ford antenna might need to secure it in place.
The one for the actual Energi kit uses a 6’ extension so that you can connect it it to the TCU since it mounts with tape to the shelf.
The 2013-2016 Fusions didn’t have the bolt hole, that got added because all of the 2017-2018 Platinums came with 4G TCUs as standard with the Ti getting it as an option in 2018.
Upgrade complete!
You guys are the best!
No broken panels, correct cable (3ft was perfect), correct components, firmware updates (Did it in two steps as mentioned how IDS did it) went smooth…Textbook.
The only thing I struggled with was finding the right bolt for the antenna. I finally gave up and tapped the nut for a 1/4"-28 that I had laying around. Not metric, but the size was so close that it was an easy (Quick) tap.
Theres no way I could have pulled this off without you guys.
Thank you!
Quick question, does the ‘Go Times’ pre cabin heating function work for you guys after the upgrade? Mine seems to be disabled, as the On/Off in the upper right side of the screen will not move to ‘On’.
Make sure the firmware is updated. I haven’t followed this thread closely, but for those of us who have DIY’d the upgrades on the H series TCU’s that were pulled from other vehicles, you need to be on calibration level UM or newer if I recall correctly. Those add the Go Times and Value Charge functionality.
