APIM is an hybrid between europe and USA?

hii all,

I recently ran my interrogator log through the CyanLabs AsBuilt Explorer and noticed that my APIM (4U5T-14G371-GFA, 64GB, Navigation, non-MY20) appears to have several North American settings despite being installed in a European-market 2020 Ford Focus MK4 Titanium Business here in the Netherlands. For i know its never have been replaced. Previous owner was a lease company.

Specifically, the following are set to US values:
BT Vehicle Nameplate ID: 05 (Ford Taurus) instead of 02 (Ford Focus)
Chime Strategy: 00 (North American) instead of 20 (European)
Climate Control: 00 (CGEA North American) instead of 40 (C1MCA European)
CGEA Version: 80 (CGEA 1.3)
Splash Screen: 01 (Unknown / not used in 3.4)

The unit is running Sync 3.4.23188 (NU5T-14G381-AD) with F12 EU maps and everything works fine day-to-day. However, I have noticed that the chime/warning strategy seems quite aggressive compared to what I’d expect — for example, persistent dashboard warnings when stationary with the door open and engine off.

Could these North American settings cause any functional issues or incompatibilities on a European-spec vehicle? and it recommended to change these to the correct European values via FORScan, or is it safe to leave as-is?

looking forward to hear from you!

Renger

Don’t worry about that, the APIM settings DB isn’t gospel and here on this side of the pond we have settings that are supposed to be EU that are used on NA vehicles.

Go by the factory AB for the car, those are the Ford factory engineering settings for the car.
