Black screen: is it the fault of the APIM or the battery?

You do understand that what ForScan shows as available may not be the correct one for your vehicle?

It’s only showing the latest PART number seen across ALL models, this doesn’t mean its the “newest” firmware or even the correct firmware for your vehicle, a part number is NOT a firmware rev number.

To use a MY2020 Escape I did a while back as an example, the APIM from the factory showed the factory installed as LU5T-14G371-CKH (CAN F188 1U5T-14G374-EH/CAN F16B 5U5T-104G379-BB), ForScan showed latest available as LU5T-14G371-CMT (CAN F188 1U5T-14G374-EK/CAN F16B 5U5T-14G379-BC). The latest for the vehicle was actually LU5T-14G371-CKF (CAN F188 1U5T-14G374-EM/CAN F16B 5U5T-14G379-BC)

OK, so please tell me how to determine the latest version of the APIM firmware update for a specific car, and which website can I download this update from?

It isn’t for a specific “car”.

Its for a specific APIM family, ForScan can pull it down.

You need to know what was loaded into the APIM from the beginning.
