Configuration error - Sync 2.2

Hello, I’m helping a friend with his Sync. His will not update thru thre normal wifi/ford system.
I tried running the interrigator, and Syn3updater sent me here for help.
I am certain this is not a MY20 unit, but wanted to run the interrigator just to make sure I don’t have any surprises. Can I just go ahead with the update without running interrigator?

See file Sync_WW497HJX_2FMPK4J85HBB95328.xml attached.

Sync_WW497HJX_2FMPK4J85HBB95328.xml (10.5 KB)

This is on Sync3.0 so the highest supported without using the Updater to reformat is would be 3.0.23219.

excellent! sounds easy.

Keep in mind that if you go to 3.4.x and you have issues you CANNOT revert to 3.0.x without replacing the APIM.

ok, using the Ford site to get to 3.0.23219.

Before you use the Ford autoinstall file you might want to check that it includes the overlay removal script. Post the autoinstall.lst contents here if in question…

Installed on the unit…
HN1T-14G381-LG
HB5T-14G421-CD
HN1T-14G391-CC
HN1T-14G422-CA
HN1T-14G423-CA

No overlay file is indicated.

Keep in mind even a 2017 Ford Edge can have a replacement APIM that is 2020+.

This one is older…in fact, very old.

Wow, Not even an H series.

LOL. You guys are the best.

The owner gets an error when trying to update via the version via the ford web site also.
I’m going to tell him he needs a newer apim module if he wants to do anything with his sync and maps.

Good advice…

Also the possibility he has a bad USB hub.
Does the port work if you throw a few mp3s on it and try to play them?
Have you tried the other port?
