I have a pretty old ford smax (2014) and I want to downgrade the maps. I don’t want to have to pay so much for a new sd card, and was wondering if anyone had any map files for it on hand. Thank you!
There are no files here for the SD Cards that Sync 2 uses.
You comment also makes zero sense about why you would downgrade just so a person would not have to pay more.
New SD cards are all over Ebay, Sure they are probably copies but they work fine.
The factory cards are write protected even with the switch moved to write.
Once a up a time there was an Android app called “Ford APK Activator” which you could use on some Andoid phone/tablet(s) to create to create the correct sdkey file for an SD/mSD and after that all you needed to do was copy over the map files.
Ford announce that the A15 would be the last update, you need to update your build of Sync2/MFT to the last release which was 3.10.x and do a master reset after putting in the new card to keep from having “late” voice prompts. Ford changed the file format of the card FAT32 to exFAT with the A10 card release so that they could fit the updated maps onto the same size cards. The minimum version that supports the exFAT cards is 3.08.x
