I’ve got a 2022 F150 Lightning Pro that I’ve added a few upgraded features on. I’ve added a heated steering wheel and heated/vented seats. With the new FordPass 5 app Ford has enabled the ability to turn on the heated steering wheel and the seats in the climate settings however since my truck wasn’t built with these features they don’t show up in the app.
Is there any way to get these features enabled? I’m also working on the idea of adding Phone as a Key (PaaK) to my truck and that project 100% relies on the ability to get FordPass features enabled.
It is highly doubtful you will get the features to show up in the app as these features were not included (feature level) on the truck as built. If you find a way, please post…
You might want to find someone that works for FORD who has access to turn these features on in the backend to get it to work. There is no way that I have ever heard of.
I am actually doing this right now with my 15 Explorer. The wiring is not to bad but it is different than just the heated seats. I am also adding the memory seating, but these are both non related topics for this thread.
You might want to use Asbuilt Explorer to look at the differences between your truck and one that came with them.
I’d expect differences in the FCIM/IPC/TCU/APIM just to start.
I could not get Asbuilt Explorer to work for me earlier this year because Ford included a CAPTCHA on one of the websites it uses. Tried to contact the developer several times without a response to see of it could be fixed. I think there can be a manual work around.
You will need to download the asbuilt files and direct the asbuilt explorer program to the directory they are stored. Since the asbuilt files are HTML encoded you can also use a browser to navigate thru them to see the hardware specifics and versioning, which will affect the coding you will need.
It’s not bad, but I noticed the seats have 50 wires and 4 modules, whereas my car has only 10 wires. Thank you! If you don’t mind, could you please share your experience once you’ve completed your seat installation? If I’m not done before you.
