Focus mk4 European black screen

Hello everyone, i bought a focus mk4 2018 Europe model with a black screen issue. I’ve replaced the screen yet the problem persists. I would like to run the log usb method but as the screen is black I’m not sure how to procede. I would like to understand how can i extract my system info or how i can procede.

Hello.
Is the unit operational besides the black screen? (audio, backup camera, radio, USB ports getting powered).

Hello, radio is working, sensor parking also. I have no camera.
I’ve managed to get the xlm file from one of the 2 usb ports.

Well, if the unit is operational (leaving the black screen aside), that’s a good sign.
I’m a big confused about a few things:
A) The APIM is 64GB according to the model and interrogator log, but has no map listed as installed, but there are maps installed
B) Try installing 3.3.19xxx on that port that produced the XML file, just the 3.3.19xxx APP package, nothing more
C) Do you see anything while turning on the car on the screen?

Before proceeding with anything, please answer C.

A) weird, maybe that’s how the previous owner broke it?
B) will try in the morning
C) ford logo that fades. Lagging then black screen with backlight

Can you share the screenshot for the APIM asbuilt from the Forscan perspective?

EDIT: Try setting DE02/7D0-03-01: xxxx-**xx-xxxx to 00 and see how it goes.

Dear SaNdMan, sorry for my late reply, i was busy today.
What I have tried to do: i’ve created an usb with a newer version and plugged it for 1 hour and half yet nothing changed.
Today I’ve tried a bare minimum setup (no maps) and after half an hour of black screen it rebooted and worked, a little bit laggy but still.

Thank you for the feedback, I’m glad it worked.
I’m assuming (this is just a guess) that based on what the unit was exhibiting (installed maps but not listed) maybe you hit an issue due to an incomplete installation (either maps or apps), which would also explain the laggy experience you mentioned (maybe there’s some post processing still). And, just installing the bare mínimum “unstuck” that unfinished installation loop/flow and revived the unit…

Also, another option is that the APIM is on its way out, but time will tell.

Now that’s operational, you may want to master reset it so that everything goes back to factory defaults… but since the unit was not behaving correctly from the start, there’s always a risk…

I’m going to try it for a week or bit more and then decide if update it/ factory reset it.
As long as phone can pair / android auto work il good.

Out of curiosity, if you have the time, can you create a new XML file with the interrogator log and share it?, I’m curious to see if the installed packages list is now correctly populated.
