Ford focus non nav to download nav in apim 16 GB

Hi, i did successfully upgrade ford sync 3 16 gb apim with cut map method but when i am enable the navigation its not showing anything. Gps is working and compass working correctly.

Is there anything to change in asbuilt or doing some extra settings?

Thanks in advance! //Dev

What are your country codes set to? The need to be set to where you actually are. Also, did you load the maps for your location?

Hi @F150Chief ! Yes i downloaded map cersion for sweden. Where should i change my country code? Is it through forscan? Thank You //Dev

Yes. Is the vehicle imported or did you purchase it new in Sweden? Where did you get the Sync 3 update?

No it is not imported vehicle and yes i bought it in sweden and update Sync 3 through Cyanlabs. Which asbuilt for country code (APIM or IPC)?.

There are several, but if you bought it in Sweden not imported it is likely OK. But, the APIM could need to be set. You will need FORScan and an adapter. The country code is in the APIM. The settings are in the Sync 3 Asbuilt Database here on the site.

Before we go there, which files did you install? Or run the Interrogator Utility in the Syn3 Updater and post the XML here.

If you are running the Interrogator Utility there is nothing to install. There should be an XML file on the USB in the SyncMyRide folder now. Post that here, just drag the file to the editor box here.

Pardon me i didn’t saw it.

Your country code is set correctly in Sync, 5357 for Sweden.
You have the correct maps loaded…
1U5T-14G421-BAL
1U5T-14G421-BBL
1U5T-14G421-BCL
You do not have the NAV Voice file loaded, but there is not enough storage for this. Without this file you will not have turn by turn voice prompts.
4U5T-14G422-BDL
You have the Sync app and voice file, Gracenote…
5U5T-14G381-EU
5U5T-14G391-AR
4U5T-14G423-AC
Storage is questionable. You only have 3.0MB of free space left on the unit. You will have performance issues with slow response, occasional lockups, and repetitive reboots.

According to your APIM asbuilt, NAV is turned off. You are putting maps on a non-Nav APIM. For this to work you will need to program the APIM for NAV. This is totally up to you, as it may cause the unit to stop working altogether. I do not recommend doing this…

To enable NAV:
Change 7D0-01-02 00BC 1510 02
to 7D0-01-02 02BC 1510 02

Hi @F150Chief thanks for guidence and advice as you said i just tried it today everything was fine but sync screen auto going restart may be due to low space in apim so i disable the NAV and thinking to update without maps. But overall a very big thanks to you for the help.

I have one another query… Last time when i update my sync 3 after that my power windows was stop working then i update PDM and DDM firmware so only front seats windows working fine but back seats both windows are not working properly as per DTC report there is missing calibration but i cannot find the calibration files for back windows. Is there any possiblity to bring them back to work as before? Thank you

Did you have to replace the battery recently? A weak battery really messes with the systems in these vehicles.
Updating Sync would have nothing to do with the window situation, there is no ability for that to happen. I suspect there was another lingering issue.

Have you used FORScan to reset the window modules?

Or since you have messed with you AB settings via Forscan you have caused the window problem on you own. If you blame it on the APIM upgrade than you will never find a solution for your windows.

Hi @bill32399 Thank You for responding on the query. Is there any changes in PDM DDM asbuilt file for windows? The problem is only in back seat windows they are opening and closing with pressing button many times in every press window open a little (like i have to press many times to open full window down or up). I didn’t change anything in asbuilt files.
Thanks in Advance

Hello @F150Chief! Yes i upgrade PDM & DDM firmware through forscan. Before that my all the windows had same problem but after firmware update front windows starting work but back are still same…

In many configurations the DDM and the PDM will also run the rear doors. Some models have a RDM for the rear doors and some run off the BCM.

So how to know which one is supporting my car rear windows?

You have a fault, or was one, that is causing the issue with the rear windows. In your owner manual there is a procedure to reset the window travel. There may be a binding or some other issue. This is a vehicle issue, to be clear, not caused by the Sync upgrades. When you upgraded the front windows that reset the fault. Have you reset the PDM and DDM with FORScan? this would usually clear the errors.

Quick search in Google returned this:
To reset Ford Focus windows that have an “auto up/down” feature, you need to reset the memory of the window control system. This involves holding the window switch up (to close the window) for a few seconds after the window is fully closed, then holding the switch down (to open the window) for a few seconds after the window is fully open.
