I’m currently using an APIM from a 2024 Ford Ranger XLT in my 2021 Ford Explorer ST. I’ve recently had the Mach-E 15.5 display in my explorer and everything worked fine except the heated and cooled seats. So I recently swapped the Ranger Sync 4 APIM in and its paired to the 10.1 display. One issue I’m having is the camera not working. Pins 14 & 15 are pressed in the connectors. I’ve looked over the ASb and still cant find anything. I did have the APIM code C1001:01-08 and Bydcm code B115E looked at a lot other forums and couldn’t find anything. I’ll post pictures below of the current ASb that I have. Any help is appreciated
You have a number of potential wiring and CANBUS issues. You should stop and figure these out first. The networks must work properly before you can fix the other annoyances.
Search for the DTC errors on Google and read the AI results, this will get you the info on what is wrong and where to start. Google is not always right but I looked thru most of these with decent results.

ford B137A:15-48 - Google Search
B115E:08 is Camera Module: Bus Signal/Message Failure.
This is an issue with the network. The rear camera communicates over a LIN (Local Industrial Network).
The error code U0253 typically indicates a “Lost Communication With Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM)”. This means the car’s computer system is having trouble communicating with the APIM, which is a module that controls various features like the radio, climate control, and other accessories.

So i got the APIM U2101:00-08 code also so looking over that i guess i have to wrong config. Im lost at this point I didn’t have this many issues with my Sync 4 out of the expedition because everything worked.
The change of the display is not the issue here, it’s the DTC’s you have from the Sync 4 swap. The BCM and APIM cannot see the camera, so there’s one issue. Go thru the DTC’s and find out what they mean. Swapping the modules has caused issues and you need to resolve this first.

Alrifht so i had a f150 apim laying around and wanted to try it. Replaced it with the other one and boom camera working without touching any as built. Now this one displays a 8inch screen so i did try and change the screen orientation to 10.1 dashcard and the screen was huge
This is the apim im having issues with. Its a 4 pin LVDS also with nav
There are 2 models of Sync 4 APIM"S, one for 8" screens and the other for the 12" screens. They are not interchangable as far as the screens. I think this is what you have here. The LVDS is pinned differently and there is a second power connection.

Got it. So i ditched the ranger apim and got a cheap f150 non nav apim and the camera is working. But a few other thing which is minor like no rear ac control on touch screen and auto hold is disable for some odd reason. So ill try and track those down or if your familiar with those asb blocks. I currently have the asb saved and will be purchasing an apim with nav for ford pass
