I’ve managed to get my bricked unit to the formatting screen that’s asking for a usb and the car pics cycling. I did this following this guide Sync3UsbBootReformat_EN.md · GitHub I can’t seem to find the full installation package that will load from there. The sync update files from here or ford wont work. Can someone point me in the right direction please?

with a correctly prepared reformat usb with syn3updater or manual method it will work
Thank you! Looking into it now.
What can I do if I don’t now the entire version? It was at least 3.3 for certain.
I do have the asbuilt apim files saved from a while back.

Set any 3.0 as current, that will trigger a reformat USB creation…
Tried this with the latest 3.0 version as current, and tried 3.3 & 3.4 versions as the new versions. It did trigger the reformat usb creation but it won’t ever get past “starting updade” then goes to “insert usb”.
Since this was bricked, do I need to use Forscan to flash the apim as-built back to it? Or is my as-built info still in there? It is the original apim. Just wondering if this may be what’s holding me up…

Everything looks good except this:
Use a good USB pendrive (such as SanDisk) and try again. Also, make sure no other device is connected to the car…
If you have 2 USB ports, try with both of them.
Tried two more.
Model: SanDisk Cruzer Glide USB Device &
Same results. No other devices are plugged in, and the usb ports are illuminated.

Ok, then I’m running out of ideas…
I have done forsan mods in the past, can’t recall which involved the apim. Could this be a issue?
The truck is also tuned, I suppose I could flash back to stock and try although I can’t see that being a problem. Thoughts?

Shouldn’t be, seems like his USB ports are not working, since you took the unit out to recovery it presumably, are you sure your USB port is actually even conencted to the APIM?
Note that the USB ports being illuminated means they have power not data, that’s potentially a seperate connection depending on car model etc.

Wow, that was it! I forgot to plug it in after disconnecting the computer. It’s installing now.
