Shortly after purchasing my truck in 2018 (f150) I decided to upgrade the original 4.2 with xm to an 8" non nav. I changed out all the nessicary hardware and use FORScan to make the needed changes in apim and every thing worked with no issues
A year latter I upgraded to a 2016 apim with navigation. Again swapped hardware changed programming and it worked no issue.
Now I came a gross a 2021 nav apim for cheap so I picked up as a spare.
Swapped it in did programming and it works except xm doesn’t work (press xm button and it keeps but nothing happens. Can get it xm menue using steering controls but will not pull in channel list ect and bult in navigation shows no GPS symbol after a bit.Somereason I am not getting signal from xm antenna..
I swap the 2016 apim back in and everything works without issue.
Is there any hardware difference between the hardware generations that would cause the GPS antenna not to work?
Or is this likely a programming issues with some of the data I transfered over not being compatible with the newer unit?
I used asbuilt explorer to compare the data.
I feel like this is probably a stupid simple issue that I am just missing…
