Heated seats on remote start not working

First time poster. I enabled OEM remote start with OEM key fob plus Forscan. Everything works bar the heated seats, which do not turn on when remote started, even when ambient temp is 10c or below. Got climate, front/rear demister and heated side mirrors working on remote start. But no heated seats on remote start. Even if they’re set to either ‘Last settings’, or ‘Auto’ in IPC settings.

In FCIM, there’s two settings, upper and lower temp limit, which are both set to 0deg Celsius. Is this anything to do with the issue? What are these settings for? I will attach photos of these settings, plus my FCIM calibration level and IPC settings to this post if it helps.

Looking for info and help to get my heated seats working with remote start.

Car is 2018 Mondeo Titanium 2.0T EcoBoost auto, OEM heated leather and auto climate. Pretty much the same spec’s as US Gen2 Fusion. TIA.

In the FCIM there should be a setting for integrated and external controller. Look to see if you have an external seat climate controller in the vehicle. Like an SCMG or H…

What the OP describes is actually normal behavior on the pre-2019MY Mondeo & Fusion.

The 0º you have highlighted telling the FCIM to ignore the element temp sensor if the button is turned off.

The seats don’t start to warm until you hit the start button, which wakes up the function on the FCIM, this occurs with both factory remote start and the Ford accessory kit. I’ve actually seen a case where a dealer installed an iDatalink remote start (as well as the factory unit for this) on a car to satisfy a customer complaint for this with the owner started using the iDatalink lock/unlock/lock instead of the Ford lock/crank/crank . The iDatalink simulates a button press/key turn and the car accepts that, the FCIM lights up and enables the seat heat.

This must be particular to pre-2019MY Mondeo & Fusion, as other Ford vehicles heat or cool the cabin and seats on remote start if equipped and the system is set to automatic.

The cooled seats will come on with the AC just not the heated seats when it gets cold.

My guess is that the MY2018.5 switch to the JU5T series is part of it working in the 2019-2020, since that switch affected the DDM\PDM\BCM\IPC calibrations.

I know that going to an K or L series APIM I had to flash my FCIM in order for it to work if I enabled anything beyond the HSW on the screen.

The 2013-2016 Escape/Focus had issues with remote start climate as well if set to auto, according to a hotline tech supposedly that was an issue due to having the climate control enabled on the MFT/Sync3 1.0 APIM and that it was the reason that climate was pulled off the screens on those models in 2017.
