I recently purchased a SYNC 3 system from a crashed 2021 Mustang Eco Premium. The seller says is a non nav, but then said yes it is, the system is due to be delivered tomorrow, is there a way to tell if it is or not? I have tried searches but some say it is some say is not, so not sure if I need to get the GPS antenna for it. Here is the part number gr26a lr3t 14g370 bbm. Ford owners.com says there is a map update for it, using the donor car’s VIN. Any help would be appreciated.
SYNC Region: NA
Navigation Variant: Non Nav
Manufacturer Year: MY20
Install Type: OEM Replacement
Old SYNC Version: 3.4.20136
New SYNC Version: 3.4.20282
Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
Don’t have the unit yet.
No matter what you’ll need to get a GPS antenna for it or you’ll have DTCs showing for an open antenna circuit.
If you have the VIN go to https://www.motorcraftservice.com/Asbuilt/ and look at 7D0-01-02 x_xx xxxx xxxx a 0 in position number 2 is no-NAV, a 2 there is NAV.
Thanks for that info, good to know, I have a base 2020 but I’ll be using Google Maps, will try Waze to see if I like it, not sure why they told me it had it after telling me no. But I verified by looking at the code for that specific Vin number and it has a 0 and not a 2 so according to that table it has no nav, so I should not need a GPS antenna I hope.
If the car has Sync3 (8" screen) from the factory it has a GPS receiver already.
Depending on model/year some are part of the whip/shark fin base or an actual hockey puck style assembly mounted somewhere in the front of the cabin (eg in the dash above the cluster).
Hello, UPS is supposed to deliver the package today, once installed I will run the interrogator to get the details of that unit, that info will come handy later on.
