I’m planning to transplant the ACC/CC (adaptive cruise control) module from a 2013 Ford Kuga/Escape or a 2017 Ford Kuga/Escape into a 2016 Ford C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid.
Is this feasible? Does anyone have any advice, experience, or suggestions?
I have added a CCM to a vehicle that did not have it and it worked fine. I had to do a PMI though to get it working. There was no way around that. Many AB settings will need to be correctly set in several modules.
I’m doing a full aftermarket ACC retrofit. The car had no factory ACC from the start.
I have enabled ACC via BCM AsBuilt coding and fitted steering wheel switches with the LIM speed limiter button.
Now I’m trying to get the SCC radar module working on my C-MAX Energi.
The CV6T-9G768 module cannot be detected on the HS-CAN bus.
Kuga/Escape shares the very similar CGEA platform.
My vehicle is a 2016 C-MAX Energi. It was manufactured without factory Adaptive Cruise Control. I am attempting to transplant the CV6T / GV6T SCC radar modules from Ford Escape (Kuga).
I have already fitted the steering wheel switches and completed BCM AsBuilt configuration.
But the CV6T module cannot be detected on the HS-CAN bus.
When I added a CCM I did not have to change any of the Calibrations. The IPC was the biggest change for ACC along with the ABS. Nothing would work until I ran a PMI.
Continuity and polarity have been double‑checked.
OBD port HS‑CAN voltages measure approximately 2.9V / 2.1V, which matches the expected standard.
Even so, the CV6T radar still cannot be detected on the HS‑CAN bus.
I’m starting to wonder whether the 2016 C‑MAX Energi is fundamentally incompatible with the radar module taken from the Escape/Kuga, even though they share the CGEA platform.
Do you have any better suggestions for further troubleshooting?
Thanks for your practical tips. Polarity, continuity, 12V power and ground are all verified. I don’t have another compatible Ford vehicle to test this radar unit. OBD HS‑CAN voltages read 2.9V / 2.1V as expected, yet the CV6T radar still cannot be detected on the HS‑CAN bus.
Could you tell me how I should modify the ABS module As‑Built parameters to enable ACC functionality? I’m wondering if missing ABS configuration is preventing the radar module from registering on the CAN network.
I would message the Forscan guys and they may be able to get you a configuration that weill show it. Sometimes when you add items it will do this in Forscan.
Otherwise, Yea check to make sure your on the right Canbus. You should be seeing it and Calibrations and AB settings on other modules will have no effect.
Sometimes when you do a mod like this you run into the problem that the model/year combo didn’t have the module in it with any trim so ForScan doesn’t pick it up.
Are you starting with no saved profile? Did the 2016 CMax have ACC as an option?
Good point, reminds me that you need to delete your old profile in Forscan and start a new one. Forscan will not show new modules until you do this. Also needs to be done after calibration updates.
Thanks for the reminder. Every time I connect Forscan, I choose not to load the saved vehicle profile and run a full fresh scan. Unfortunately the CCM radar module still cannot be detected.
