Please describe in detail your issue below
after upgrade from Sync 3.0 to 3.4 a message appears says (Navigation is not functioning properly)

Your log shows you created an update maps only USB, not a 3.4 + maps update
Correct that and re run the process, unless you had 3.4 already as you also said. You are giving mixed information, so please clarify what’s the current status of the unit and what you have done to get it in that state.

Also, read the documentation.

you are right, I mixed the LOG file:

I downgraded one version to reinstall and redo the whole process, but still getting the error message (Navigation is not functioning properly)

Is this a US export vehicle, 2016 Ford Escape, that had US maps on it before? What version app and maps did you replace? Has the region been changed?

Yes it is a US export vehicle, with US maps on it.

previous version:
Sync 3.0
Build 19205
Gracenote Version: 1.1.1.1139
Map Version: NA 1 14

I changed the Region to Middle East.

UPDATE:

I changed back the region to US and everything fixed…

now how to install Middle East maps?

Are you seeing US maps or Middle East maps?

Run the APIM Interrogator Tool and post the results here.

I’m seeing US maps only.

I am having a an issue with Navigation. I have a 2018 F350 - (3.0.19205)

Automated method failed numerous times (Connection errors)

Opted for Manual process and built my USB. (Followed process).

Install successful:

Sync - 3.4.21098
Navigation - NA 2 20
Factory Reset as instructed

The issue is on the navigation screen. The window opens and I can see the Arrow(Vehicle) with breadcrumbs working. The image of the road/landscape is missing and is basically a blank canvas.

Any ideas?

Jeff M.

Whatever happened with your installation it did not install Middle East maps. You are on 3.4.21098 though.

d2p1:Response>5U5T-14G381-ES</d2p1:Response>

You need to perform the installation over again and downgrade to 3.3.19052 first, then Reformat with 3.4.21098 and Middle East maps.

Could you post the log file, please?
Also, please run the APIM Interrogator Tool and post the results here.
What method did you use for the installation, autoinstall or reformat? Have you made revisions to your APIM, like NAV in Motion?

Thanks for your response F150cheif . I manually built my USB using the manual process. I am attempting to run the APIM Interrogator Utility, but I cannot locate the DONTINDX.MSA in the USB I manually built so I can copy it over. Is there a place I can find this file so I can run the Interrogator. I ran it and it gave me an ERROR7. To answer your other question, I did use FORSCAN to allow NAV in motion.

Set the country code back to US, 5553.

See your DM.

I looked thru the Interrogator file and don’t see any issues with the asbuilt or the Sync installation. There is plenty of free space, even too much I think. The APIM is a rather current version, JR3T-14G371-CED, which will handle the upgrade.

You have 5.8GB free, which was odd to me. You missed a map file, you have 8 installed out of 9. Everything else looks fine, but that is why the map background is missing. I don’t know which one it is, but it’s one of 4U5T-14G421-CHD, -CFD, -CCD, or -CED based on the file sizes.

The best thing to do is either perform the whole installation over (refromat is about 30 minutes) or install the maps again stand alone (about an hour and a half). In the end, it will take about the same amount of time because you will need to downgrade to 3.3.19052 to run the reformat tool.

Use this tutorial as a guide, it also has all the maps listed.

Thanks for the update. Now we are getting somewhere.

I am creating the new USB to update the maps downloading the Software from the Database. I searched for all 3 of the Voice Nav files and they do not appear to be available any longer. I tried to manually scroll as well. Can you point me to these ones?

<VOICE_NAV=4U5T-14G422-CAH_1615428946000.TAR.GZ
VOICE_NAV=4U5T-14G422-CBH_1615429039000.TAR.GZ
VOICE_NAV=4U5T-14G422-CCH_1615429127000.TAR.GZ’>

Disregard. Found them.

How did this work out for you? Is your issue solved?

Hey man. I had a chance to run it this morning and looks like everything downloaded correctly. Thanks again for the help. Great upgrade!
